    "for their fundamental contributions to the economic theory of incentives under asymmetric information."

    Prize: PHYSIOLOGY or MEDICINE
    Awarding institution: The Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institute
    And the winners are...

    Peter C. Doherty and Rolf M. Zinkernagel
    "for their discoveries concerning the specificity of the cell mediated immune defence."

    Prize: LITERATURE
    Awarding institution: The Swedish Academy
    And the winner is...

    Wislawa Szymborska
    "for poetry that with ironic precision allows the historical and biological context to come to light in fragments of human reality."
